New Ventures
Wildlife Photo Safaris is a new venture started by Rian van Schalkwyk. He is an avid wildlife photographer. He calls Namibia home and has extensive knowledge of Namibian parks and their wildlife. He started this company to take amateur and professional photographers to Namibia’s premier National Park, Etosha, and other parks and reserves. He knows where you will have the best change to get the best shots. With over 30 visits to this world-renowned park he will take you to the right waterholes at the right time of the day to get that shot you always wanted to hang on your wall.
Our Philosophy
We will do our utmost best to give you the shot you always wanted. We are here to help you improve on your photographic skills but we also want you to have fun in the process. We are only visitors in the animals’ world and always give them the right of way.
More About Rian:
Since childhood, animals and their behaviors have fascinated me. I was raised in Namibia, a land of many contrasts and landscapes. My love for animals and photography coincided 7 years ago on the banks of the Okavango River, where I lived at the time. Soon, photography opened a whole new wonderful world for me. I started photographing the birds around my house, but my photography soon spread further into parks and reserves of Namibia. I learned my craft with hours of patiently waiting around waterholes or next to swelling rivers or in the unforgiving heat of the African bush. Photography taught me so much about the natural world we live in. It also taught me the vulnerability of eco-systems and the creatures in it. In 2019 I packed my car and traveled through Africa with my 4-year-old daughter to 27 parks and reserves over a 10-month period. Here I decided to share my love for nature and it’s wild inhabitants with others. As a wildlife photographer I can contribute & show people a small piece of the stunning world we live in and that it is worth fighting for.
